Hello Lovelies! Sooo I really wanted to come up with a collection that showed off my style of dying. I have never been one to "throw dye at a pot". For me to create I have to feel truly inspired and this is why I have not come out with "new" color ways in a while. This collection was created to show what inspires me and why I love dying yarn so much. Sock Blanks will also now be a regular thing as I have finally mustered up the courage to start painting them. When I first started dying I hand painted all of my fiber so I felt this to be a natural progression for me. I hope you love this collection as much as I do, I believe it to be my best work yet. Enjoy!!
Hello Lovely People!
2019 is kicking off with a bang! This year I have lots of events and trunk shows on the calendar so I will be gong back to Preorders so I will have time to get all of you awesome people across the world yarn in a timely manner! On the 12th of January 2019 I will be in Las Vegas at Sin City Knit Shop hanging out from 10AM - 3PM and selling my yarn in person. If you are in or around the area come say "Hi" , I would love to meet you!
I have some new bases that I am super excited about! One is a high twist single base which is 100 percent superwash merino and just so shiny!! My next set of bases is minis's! I have added a 4 hank 80 gram pack that has over 300 yards of mini goodness for little pops of color or complementary in any project. Last and certainly not least is my Suri Silk Cloud base. I want to live in it! It has literally become my favorite yarn on this planet! Alpaca/Silk has always been my favorite blend to spin and I can't believe it has taken me so long to get this in stock. This yarn is so great for those of you allergic to wool. It is also different than a normal alpaca yarn sporting that "fluffy" look that most of the new mohair blends have with the benefit of being usable to those allergic to mohair or wool!
The next shop update probably wont be for a bit but I brought back some old favorites, amazing new bases, complementary minis, and some incredible new color ways. January is my birthday month so I wanted to celebrate with some rainbows!! Thanks so much for the continued support, here's to meeting some of you on my trips across the country soon! Cheers!!
Hello lovely people! So this update is a bit late, but I always say better late than never! Soo there are lots of new color ways, fiber options, and even a subscription kit where I got to partner with 2 amazing companies, One Sock Wonder Bags and Slab, to bring you a box of awesomeness! The colors in the picture above??.. They are a part of a collection I am calling the Sweater Weather collection. These colors came about when I decided I was going to knit myself the Este sweater.. well it's technically a shirt with lace and cables on the side but since its warm enough in OR I am calling it my first sweater. Anyways, I was thinking about the perfect yarn to knit and thought, "Hey I don't really have a whole lot of color ways that lend themselves to sweater patterns." Thus, Sweater Weather was born. It's a collection of semi-solid.. tonal if you will yarns with very light speckles just to give you that right amount of pop and subtleness for any sweater pattern. At this point I keep going back and forth to which one I will use for my Este, but once I decide I will keep you all updated on my progress.
Sooo... This lovely subscription box...
I partnered with One Sock Wonder Bags and Slab and am bringing you a box so great you can't resist. I dyed a specially made shop color way called HighFiberArtz that was dyed with rich plum tones and fades down to a soft pink with a touch of carefully picked colored speckles. One Sock Wonder Bags created an exclusive sheep squeezer that will tame any yarn cake and keep it neat that matches the shop color way pretty perfectly. You also get matching stitch markers that include a Hamsa progress keeper. Last but not least because Oregon is the Cherry City, I have supplied a sample of black cherry all natural soap made by Slab in Salem, OR. This subscription kit is not only one of a kind in its items, it is one where you actually get to see the yarn before you purchase!!
I have added shop policies!!
Want to know how long it takes to receive any item?
Want to know how to wash your indie dyed yarn?
All of these questions can be answered by going to the new shop policies page and any further questions can be directed toward the contact form. I swear I don't bite!! :)
Ohh... lastly... This will be the last shop update with ready to ship color ways. I am going to be on the road more this year as I have a ton of trunk shows booked!! So once January hits I am switching back to 2 week preorders just to I can get you your yarn on time. I will keep you amazing people updated with when and where I'll be at in the country as shows come up.
ALL my Vegas peeps!! I will be at SIN CITY KNIT SHOP at 2165 E Windmill Ln #200, Las Vegas, NV 89123 on January 12, 2019 !!!
Don't be shy come say hi!
This is going to be a brief update. Sooooo today is Small Business Saturday!! I just wanted to thank all my AMAZING customers who support me everyday! Because I believe in supporting small and I want to thank you awesome people, I am offering 35% off all yarn with code: SBS35 (today only), which is 5% more than my Black Friday deal, a free mini micro skein with every yarn order, and brand new color ways and bases! I also decided to do some feng shui and give the website a brand new look! I hope you enjoy all of these surprises as much as I loved making them for you! P.S. Anything ordered this weekend will get shipped on Monday! I hope everyone had a great turkey day!! <3
This is a pretty exciting update! In loo of the holiday season, I have decided to take down all PreOrders, and put up a bunch of ready to ship skeins. I know timing can be tough with the holiday season so I wanted to make yarn available for you awesome peope ASAP!
ALSO!! I have decided not to carry dyed fiber anymore, well combed top that is, and for the timing being. I have noticed a shift in the community to carded preps such as batts and rolags. This is why I will be offering mini puni rolag sets for anyone who has always wanted to try this type of prep but doesn't want to spend a whole lot. Most of my rolag listings are .5 oz or below, perfect for that extra something special in any spinning, felting or making your own dreadlocks project!
Enjoy the update, there are sooo many pretties and different bases/ weights.
I've been wanting to make this set for a while now. I am so happy the ideas in my head from childhood memories of a bowl of cold cereal and cartoons every Saturday morning came to fruition. I love each color way separately and together as a set. This will be the first of many sets I am going to release. Feel free to indulge in the ultimate nostalgia with the whole set or pick your favorite! Available in both Fingering and DK!!
I decided that I wanted to try something different. I have a mini shop update to go along with a color way that was created for a challenge. The challenge was mythical creatures and since I wasn't sure what mine was, I went with Wolf Fairy!
I also decided to dye up 2 more color ways that were some fun ideas I had been thinking of. Thus, Mint Berry Crunch! (yes from South Park Coon and Friends) and Rainbow Sheep were also born. I figured this would be a special reward for anyone browsing the shop on a regular basis. I will announce the color ways on Instagram, but probably one by one, over time. Enjoy!!
Hello! I realized that people might be shopping for the holiday season so I wanted to include some new colorways on my brand new luxury base! It's 50% de-haired baby Yak and 50% Mulberry Silk. It literally feels like butter in my hands. To celebrate this new wool-free base, I wanted to dye a color way with 100% natural dyes! Eat Your Veggies! was dyed using onion, cabbage, and beets. It was a little bit of trial and error, but I finally got the color way where I wanted it to be. It is also light and wash fast because I used Aluminum Sulfate to mordant the yarn. This would be just like using citric acid to bind acid dye to yarn. Natural dyes, IE plants, veggies, metal objects, wont typically adhere to protein fibers with the "normal" method, so it was pretty exciting to finally "master" a color way using this method.
I also have 2 new fiber color ways. They are not new, they are some of your favorite yarns, MoonLight Lion and Sally. I also have announced on all my fiber listings that I will no longer be braiding my fiber. When attending the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival in Canby, OR I was talking to a particular spindle maker and his wife that I respect. After this and after personal experience I do believe that braiding compacts combed top so instead of a fiber braid you will receive a neatly wrapped fiber bundle that you can braid yourself upon receipt. I hope you enjoy the update as much as loved dying everything for you lovely people!!
I am excited to announce the launch of the new website. I will still be on Etsy for a few months while I am transitioning. Feel free to message me on the contact page for any questions or possible custom orders! Thank you so much for visiting the site, I am excited to have you!!
